Vandalism in Howrah over controversial painting during Durga Puja; 30 arrested
The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has uncovered a deceptive scheme targeting devotees under the pretext of collecting donations for the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Vinod Bansal, the spokesperson for VHP, raised an alarm through social media, revealing a fraudulent page titled "Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Chhetra Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh." This page, featuring a QR code, falsely solicits contributions for the Ram Temple's construction, prompting the VHP to caution the public against falling victim to the scam.
Bansal reported the issue to the Home Ministry, emphasizing the fraudulent activities to both Delhi and Uttar Pradesh police authorities. A member of VHP engaged with the scammer via phone, uncovering statements like, "Contribute as much as you can. Your name and number will be noted in the diary. When the temple is completed, all of you will be invited to Ayodhya. I am speaking from Ayodhya." The VHP, in a video statement, clarified that Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Nyas has not authorized any fundraising activities, urging caution among the public and seeking strict actions against such fraudulent endeavors.
