New revelations have emerged surrounding the tragic incident at RG Kar Medical College, where a young doctor's body was found in the seminar room. The victim’s mother claimed in court that they were barred from seeing their daughter for three and a half hours, only being allowed access after the Chief Minister intervened.
Suspicion deepened when it was discovered that entry to the Plaque of Occurrence was restricted for colleagues and journalists. However, several "outsiders" were found in the seminar room during this critical time. Taaza TV acquired a video from inside the seminar room, which raised further concerns (Taaza TV has not confirmed the video’s authenticity).
The video purportedly shows Shantanu Dey, a lawyer and alleged shadow partner of former RG Kar principal Sandip Ghosh, outside the seminar room. This has sparked questions about his presence at the crime scene. Forensic doctor Debashish Som, who is reportedly close to Sandip Ghosh, was also seen at the scene, despite not being employed by RG Kar.
On Monday, investigators questioned him at Nizam Palace regarding his presence. Prasun Chatterjee, another shadow partner of Sandip Ghosh and a data entry operator at the National Medical College, was also present at the scene.
These individuals dubbed the "Three Musketeers," were at the crime scene immediately after the incident. This unusual presence has led to questions about whether there was an attempt to tamper with evidence. How did they get there, and who called them? Meanwhile, "no unauthorised person has entered the cordoned-off area", says Kolkata police.
