Video reveals police brutality as accused forced to pluck beard hair

The incident unfolded at the Pratap Nagar police station in Bhilwara when Suresh Gurjar (35) was arrested from the Gulabpura area on May 8. During interrogation, SHO Sugan Singh instructed Suresh to pluck hair from his beard, while other officers filmed the ordeal, subsequently sharing it on social media platforms. Despite evident distress, the accused was subjected to this humiliating treatment, with tears streaming down his cheeks as he complied with the demands of the officers.

Following the circulation of the video, members of the Gurjar community, including Mandal MLA Udaylal Bhadana, lodged a complaint, urging action against the involved officers. Responding to the outcry, SP Rajan Dushyant took swift action, transferring SHO Sugan Singh to the police lines and suspending ASI Mahendra Khoji and constable Banwari Lal pending further investigation.
