Virat Kohli, Shubhman Gill, K L Rahul, other cricketers mourn victims of Pahalgam terror attack

The nation is in mourning after the horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where at least 26 civilians, mostly tourists, were killed. Star Indian batter Virat Kohli took to social media on Wednesday to express his grief and condemn the brutal act, calling it "heinous" and praying for justice.

Posting a heartfelt message on Instagram, Kohli wrote, "Deeply saddened by the heinous attack in Pahalgam on innocent people. Heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. Praying for peace and strength to families of all those who lost their lives and justice to be served for this cruel act."

The Pahalgam terror attack, which unfolded at the serene meadow of Baisaran, has been termed the deadliest in the Valley since the Pulwama attack of 2019. The brutality has left the entire country shaken, and members of the cricket community have united in offering their support and prayers.

Joining Kohli, several other prominent cricketers, including KL Rahul and Shubman Gill, shared their condolences. "Heartbreaking to hear about the attack in Pahalgam. My prayers are with the victims and their families. Violence like this has no place in our country," Gill wrote. Rahul added, "My thoughts are with the families of the victims. Legendary cricketer Anil Kumble also voiced his sadness, describing the loss of innocent lives as a "senseless act of violence" and urging everyone to stand against hate. The Pathan brothers, Yusuf and Irfan, expressed personal anguish, with Irfan sharing that he was in Kashmir just days before the attack, making the tragedy feel even closer.
