Vishnu Deo Sai takes oath as new Chhattisgarh CM

The move also sees the seasoned political figure Raman Singh, who led the state government for 15 years, taking on the role of the Speaker of the state assembly, underscoring his continued importance within the party.

The BJP's decision, following over a week of careful deliberations, is seen as a preemptive measure against potential factionalism. Notably, the BJP challenges the tribal status of Ajit Jogi, asserting that Vishnu Deo Sai is Chhattisgarh's first tribal Chief Minister, contradicting Mr. Jogi's tribal identity, which is currently under examination by a committee appointed by the Chhattisgarh High Court.
