TATA SIA Airlines Limited, known by the brand name of Vistara announced its merger with Air India on Friday.
This follows a key development with Singapore Airlines (SIA) receiving approval from the Indian government for foreign direct investment (FDI) as part of the merger process.
The company said in a statement that customers will not be able to make bookings with Vistara for travel on or after November 12 as all Vistara aircraft will transition to the Air India brand. Bookings for these routes will be redirected to Air India’s website.
Vistara will continue its normal flight operations until November 11, 2024. The merger, initially announced in November 2022, will create one of the world’s largest airline groups by combining the strengths of these two aviation giants.
