Visva Bharati University management gives Amartya Sen 15 days to vacate land

Renowned Nobel laureate Amartya Sen has once again been served a notice in connection with the alleged encroachment of Visva Bharati University's land. The notice, issued by Vishwa Bharti Management, has given Sen 15 days to vacate the house and land in question. Failure to comply will result in the university resorting to force to vacate its land.

This is not the first time that Sen has received such a notice. He was previously asked to vacate the university land, to which he responded that the land belonged to him and that the District Magistrate was aware of the situation. Sen has also indicated that he will not be returning to Birbhum before June, requesting that law and order be maintained until then.

The ongoing dispute between Sen and Visva Bharati University has attracted widespread attention, given Sen's stature as a leading economist and philosopher. However, the matter remains unresolved, and it remains to be seen how it will be resolved in the coming days.
