Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal cast his vote in the Lok Sabha elections today, emphasizing his stance against "inflation and unemployment." Kejriwal, accompanied by his family including his wife Sunita, voted for ally Congress candidate Jai Prakash Aggarwal. Speaking to supporters outside a polling booth in the national capital, Kejriwal stated, "My father, wife and both my children voted. My mother could not come today as she is very ill. I have voted against inflation, and unemployment." He also urged voters to participate despite the heat, saying, "I want to appeal to all the voters that even though it is very hot, do not sit at home. Please cast your vote."
Voting took place across all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, with a voter turnout of 25.8% recorded nationally by 11 am. Kejriwal, who is currently on interim bail until June 1 after challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate in the Supreme Court, joined other prominent figures in casting his vote. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha mentioned that Kejriwal would vote for the Congress candidate, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi would vote for the AAP candidate. This highlights the strategic alliances formed for the elections.
