Due to continuous heavy rain since last night, waterlogging has severely affected various parts of Kolkata, including Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport.
The aircraft parking bay and apron area are submerged, although the runway remains clear of water. However, the water accumulation around the airport has led to several flights being delayed or canceled, causing significant inconvenience to passengers. Efforts are underway by the airport management to alleviate the waterlogging using pumps, and they are providing regular updates to passengers. Many parts of Kolkata, including Sector 5 and various blocks of Salt Lake, are also underwater, leading to severe traffic jams and difficulties for commuters.
