WB Education Board employees protest at Salt Lake over attack on Bratya Basu’s car

The West Bengal Central Education Board Employees' Union staged a protest in front of the Derozio Building in Salt Lake, condemning the attack on Education Minister Bratya Basu’s car at Jadavpur University. Protesters demanded strict action against those responsible and urged authorities to address rising campus unrest. They accused CPI(M) of fostering intolerance at the university and called for measures to ensure the safety of government officials visiting educational institutions.

Demonstrators held placards and raised slogans, emphasizing the need for immediate government intervention. Many participants expressed concerns over increasing disruptions in academic spaces, stating that educational institutions should remain free from political violence. The protest saw participation from educators, staff, and union representatives, highlighting widespread discontent within the education sector. CPI(M) has yet to respond to the allegations.
