Krishnapada Bagh, also known as Bhanu Bagh, the main accused and mastermind behind the tragic blast in Egra, East Medinipur, has passed away. Bagh, who had been on the run following the explosion in Khadikul village, was receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Cuttack. Superintendent of Police Amarnath confirmed that Bagh succumbed to his injuries at around 2 o'clock on Thursday night.
The devastating blast, which occurred at a firecracker factory, claimed the lives of nine villagers. Bhanu Bagh's association with the factory as its owner brought him into the spotlight during the investigation. As the inquiry progressed, sensational information began to emerge surrounding Bagh's activities.
In response to the incident, a case has been registered under the Explosives Act in relation to the Egra blast. The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) filed the case with the permission of the Kanthi court, following the High Court's observation. The charges filed against Bhanu Bagh and two others include murder and attempted murder.
