As Durga Puja festivities kick off with the celebration of Chaturthi, thousands of people are expected to take to the streets to visit the grand puja pandals in Kolkata and throughout West Bengal. The Meteorological Department has provided reassuring news, stating that the weather will be favorable for puja visits as no rainfall is expected in the state throughout the entire week.
According to a statement released by the Meteorological Department, Kolkata is currently experiencing a minimum temperature of 25.6 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 31.7 degrees Celsius, just one degree below the normal range. The weather conditions are described as normal, offering a pleasant climate for puja enthusiasts.
The region has remained rain-free for the past 10 days, contributing to the stabilized weather, not only in Kolkata but also in other parts of the state, including Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura, as well as in Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong in North Bengal.
