Flight operations at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport faced disruptions on Monday due to adverse weather conditions in the national capital. The evening saw light rain and thunderstorms, providing relief to residents struggling with poor air quality.
Between 6 to 8 pm, 16 Delhi-bound flights were diverted due to bad weather, with 10 going to Jaipur, three to Lucknow, two to Amritsar, and one to Ahmedabad.
Airlines, including IndiGo and SpiceJet, issued advisories on social media, warning passengers about possible delays. IndiGo posted a travel advisory on platform X, acknowledging the impact on flight operations.
"#6ETravelAdvisory : Flight operations to/from #Delhi are impacted due to heavy rain. You may keep a tab on your flight status by visiting ://bit.ly/2EjJGGT. For any assistance, feel free to DM," the airline posted on X.
The India Meteorological Department forecasted a partly cloudy sky for Tuesday, with the possibility of shallow to moderate fog in the morning. The expected temperatures are around 25 degrees Celsius for the maximum and 12 degrees Celsius for the minimum.
