West Bengal cancels Government employees' leave amid rising national security concerns

The West Bengal government has ordered the immediate cancellation of all government employees' leave, except for medical reasons. The directive was issued by the state finance department and signed by Additional Chief Secretary Prabhat Mishra. It emphasized that any previously granted leave, excluding medical grounds, would be considered revoked. An emergency meeting between the Union Home Minister and Chief Minister took place to discuss the situation. The Chief Minister confirmed that the state would adhere to the central government's guidelines to manage the evolving situation and ensure security measures are followed. The directive reflects the government's proactive stance on safeguarding both the public and the state's operational integrity.
