The field of graduation reading is undergoing a significant change as students will now need four years instead of three to complete their undergraduate studies. The state has decided to implement this new rule starting from the upcoming academic year, despite its objections to the National Education Policy.
The aim is to ensure that students in the state receive a comprehensive education without falling behind. The education department announced the rule on Wednesday, stating that it will be applicable to all government and government-aided colleges. The four-year graduation program will allow students to directly engage in research after completion.
The policy will be effective from the academic year 2023-24, encompassing all students who have recently passed their Higher Secondary examinations. It is worth noting that this extended duration aligns with the provisions mentioned in the National Education Policy.
The apparent contradiction in objections to the policy arises when considering that the same approach is being adopted in this case.
