Woman found dead inside rented home in New Town; Police probe underway

A 31-year-old woman, Pampa Das, was found dead in a rented house at New Adarsh Palli in New Town. Originally from Basirhat, she had moved into the area a month ago. Police reached the spot and broke open the door to recover the body.

The woman, Pampa Das, was found lying motionless inside the room. The body was sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. An unnatural death case has been registered.

Investigators are checking her call records, speaking to neighbours, and reviewing CCTV footage in the area. Pampa had been living alone. Police are probing all possible angles, including whether it was a case of suicide or involved other circumstances.
