In a somber incident near Charishar area, two autos traveling towards Pakapol from Bhangar Block 2 met with a tragic accident. Before reaching Charishar, one auto attempted to overtake the other but collided with a four-wheeler heading from Pakapol to Bhojerhat.
The impact caused a woman to be thrown from the auto, and tragically, she lost her life on the spot, along with several other passengers in the auto. The distressed crowd in the area, angered by the incident, overturned the auto into a nearby pond. Promptly responding to the situation, the Polarhat police station arrived, using a JCB to retrieve the auto from the pond and bring it back to the road.
