No eviction drive in Burrabazar & College Street, clarifies KMC Commissioner
A shocking incident has emerged from Jagatballavpur, where a woman was allegedly murdered by her husband and in-laws after being stripped of her gold jewellery. The victim, identified as Antara Dalui, was found dead at her in-laws’ residence in the Paikpara area, while the accused family members fled the scene before her relatives arrived.
According to the victim’s family, Antara had earlier informed her mother that her husband Simanta Dalui and his brother had forcibly taken away all her gold ornaments. Soon after this conversation, her mother received the news of her daughter’s death. When family members rushed to the house, they found her body lying inside, but her husband, brother-in-law, and mother-in-law were missing.
The family has alleged that Antara was subjected to continuous harassment over dowry demands since her marriage three years ago. Her mother has directly accused the husband and his family of murdering her daughter and fleeing during the night. Police from Jagatballavpur police station have launched a search operation to trace the accused and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
