Woman murders husband with nephew, dumps body in suitcase in UP’s Deoria

A gruesome incident from Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria district has shocked the nation. A woman, madly in love with her nephew, murdered her husband who had just returned from working in Saudi Arabia, and stuffed his body into a suitcase before discarding it in a remote field.

The horrifying crime came to light when villagers discovered an abandoned suitcase in a wheat field near Pakdi Chhapar Pathkhauli village under Tarkulwa police station limits. Upon being alerted, police rushed to the scene and found the body of a 30-year-old man inside the suitcase, with multiple head injuries.

The deceased was identified as Naushad, a resident of Bhatauli village under Mail police station, who had returned home just a week ago after years of working abroad. Initial investigation revealed that Naushad’s wife, involved in an illicit relationship with her own nephew, conspired with him to eliminate Naushad, who was reportedly obstructing their affair.

After intense interrogation, the wife confessed to the crime. She revealed that she and her lover first attacked Naushad with a sharp weapon before packing his body into a suitcase and dumping it nearly 50 kilometers away to avoid suspicion.

Senior police officials, including Deoria SP Vikrant Veer, inspected the crime scene with forensic and dog squads. A hunt is underway to apprehend the nephew, who is currently absconding, while the wife has been taken into custody.

This chilling incident bears eerie similarities to the infamous “blue drum murder” case from Meerut, where a woman similarly killed her husband with her lover’s help, highlighting a disturbing trend of brutal crimes fueled by illicit relationships.
