Woman stages sit-in protest outside lover's home over 'marriage promise' in Murshidabad

A young woman has staged a sit-in protest outside a man's residence in the Khojardanga area of Khaspara under Nabagram Block in Murshidabad, alleging that he failed to honor a promise of marriage. The protest has attracted significant attention in the locality, with residents gathering near the house as the woman continues her demonstration demanding that the man fulfill his commitment.

According to local sources, the woman and the man first became acquainted while playing an online mobile game. Their friendship reportedly developed into a romantic relationship over time. The woman alleges that the relationship continued for a long period and that the man had promised to marry her, but is now refusing to do so. The woman is reportedly a resident of the Itahar police station area in South Dinajpur district.

The incident has drawn a large crowd of local residents to the area. After receiving information about the matter, local panchayat representatives and community leaders visited the spot and attempted to mediate between the two sides.
