As the clock strikes midnight on January 1, 2024, the global population is poised to hit a historic milestone, surpassing 8 billion people, as revealed by the latest data from the US Census Bureau. This figure signifies a remarkable increase of over 75 million individuals in just one year, with the world witnessing a continuous rate of 4.3 births and 2 deaths every second.

While the growth rate has slightly decelerated to just under 1%, the sheer magnitude of the surge emphasizes the relentless expansion of the human presence on Earth. The projected world population on the first day of 2024 is estimated at 8,019,876,189, representing an uptick of 75,162,541 from the start of 2023.
