Yogi Adityanath's stern message after Pahalgam attack: ‘New India won’t leave anyone who provokes’

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath delivered a strong warning to those behind the Pahalgam terror attack, asserting that the ‘new India’ would respond in a language the perpetrators understand. Speaking at a rally in Lakhimpur Kheri, Adityanath reaffirmed that while India does not provoke anyone, it will never spare those who dare to harm its people.

Expressing his condolences to the families affected by the attack, Adityanath said, “There can be no place for terrorism or anarchy in our society. New India, based on development and welfare, follows a zero-tolerance policy. Yeh naya Bharat kisi ko chhedta nahi, lekin agar koi chhedega toh chhodega bhi nahi.”

Earlier, the chief minister visited the family of Shubham Dwivedi, a Kanpur native who was among the 26 killed in the Pahalgam attack. Shubham, who had been married just two months ago, lost his life in what Adityanath described as a cowardly act by terrorists. He emphasized that such actions are unacceptable in India and expressed confidence that the Central Government would take decisive steps.

Yogi Adityanath also mentioned that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had already inspected the affected areas and assured that further robust actions would be taken to curb terrorism. “The central government's measures will put the last nail in the coffin of terrorism,” he said.

The terror attack has triggered strong responses across the country. Following the incident, India suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, cancelled visas for Pakistani nationals, and shut down the Attari Integrated Check Post. These steps aim to pressure Pakistan to curb cross-border terrorism.

The nation continues to mourn the 25 Indian and one Nepali citizen who lost their lives, while leaders across political lines call for unity and unwavering action against terrorism.
