Bodies of a young man and a young woman were found hanging from a tree branch in the forest adjacent to Vashundhara Park, Durgapur, on Tuesday. Local residents, who had gone to graze their cattle, discovered the two individuals with ropes around their necks. Upon receiving information, police from Durga Pur station promptly arrived at the scene and removed the bodies by cutting the ropes.
The bodies were transported to Durga Pur Mahakma Hospital for postmortem examination. Police cordoned off the area with tape to preserve the scene for investigation. The male victim has been identified as a resident of Jamgarh village under Faridpur police station in Durgapur. The identity of the female victim is currently unknown, and police are working to establish her identity.
Authorities have not released further details on the circumstances leading to the deaths. Police are continuing their investigation at the site and gathering information from local residents to determine the cause and any other relevant factors.
