Youth kills cousin over alleged love dispute, dies by suicide in Palamu

A tragic incident has surfaced from Palamu, where a young man allegedly murdered his cousin sister before taking his own life, sending shockwaves through the local community. The incident occurred in the Sua Kaudiyan area under the Sadar police station limits, prompting immediate police action and an ongoing investigation.

According to police officials, the accused, identified as Bittu Kumar Singh, had an argument with his cousin Khushboo Kumari on Sunday night. The dispute, reportedly linked to a love affair, escalated into violence when he attacked her with a sickle inside the house. Khushboo, who was staying at her maternal uncle’s residence for studies, was found critically injured in the room they shared. After the attack, the accused fled the scene. On Monday morning, his body was discovered on railway tracks, with authorities suspecting suicide. Police recovered the weapon used in the crime and took both bodies into custody for post-mortem examination to establish the exact sequence of events.

Officials stated that preliminary findings point to a personal dispute as the trigger, though further investigation is underway.
