In a shocking incident that unfolded in the midnight hours on Saturday, a 28-year-old man was brutally murdered with a sharp weapon in the Deva Kotwali area. The gruesome discovery was made on Sunday morning when the victim failed to return home, prompting a search by family members.
Lal Mohammad, a resident of Khewli village and the owner of a wood shop on Tie Kala Marg, used to sleep at his shop after having dinner. His absence on Sunday morning raised concerns, leading his younger brother, Taufiq, to the shop. To his horror, Taufiq discovered Lal Mohammad's lifeless body lying merely 10 steps away from his sleeping place, with a severe neck injury inflicted by a sharp weapon.
The distraught Taufiq immediately notified his father, Shafiq, and the police were informed promptly. Top police officials, along with force and dog squad teams from multiple police stations, reached the crime scene. The body was sent for post-mortem as the police commenced a thorough investigation.
