A young man's body was found under the Chandannagar rail overbridge in Anantpur, Polba, on Monday morning. Polba police reached the scene after receiving information and secured the area for investigation. The body was sent to Chunchura Imambara Hospital for post-mortem to determine the cause of death. Officials from Hooghly Rural Police, including DSP D&T Priyabrata Bakshi, the CI, and the OC, inspected the site.

"Polba police received a report about a body under the bridge, and we have sent it for post-mortem," said DSP Bakshi. Preliminary examination revealed no severe injury marks on the body. The police are verifying whether the death resulted from an accidental fall or other causes. Since the incident occurred after Holi celebrations, officers are checking if there is any connection. Efforts are being made to identify the deceased, and authorities are questioning locals for possible leads.

Police are also analyzing call records and collecting forensic evidence from the site. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to trace the victim’s movements before the incident.
