Bengal Police busts Jamtara cyber scam, 46 arrested in statewide crackdown
A youth was shot dead aboard the 13024 Down Gaya-Hooghly Express in Bihar on January 21, 2025. The incident occurred shortly after the train left Kiul Railway Station. The victim, identified as Dharmendra Sahu, a resident of Mahisona village in Lakhisarai’s Sadar block, was shot at close range by three to four assailants aboard the train. Sahu succumbed to his injuries and died on the spot.
After the shooting, the attackers reportedly pulled the train's emergency chain, causing the train to stop. The assailants then fled the scene, and the train was left in a state of panic. Police were informed immediately and reached the site to begin their investigation. The body of the victim was recovered, and an identification card found on him confirmed his identity.
Initial reports suggest that the victim was carrying documents related to a land dispute, which authorities are investigating further. These documents, discovered by the police, may provide insight into the possible motive behind the crime. Passengers on the train were questioned by authorities to gather any relevant information that might assist the investigation. Police are currently verifying the details of the land dispute and exploring all angles of the case. No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
