The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has launched 75 Rajdhani buses to connect the capital city with 75 districts, starting today. The launch was flagged off by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with 39 ordinary buses, as well as the release of a postage stamp to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the UPSRTC.
The CM also launched an online reservation system and a mobile app called UP-RAAHI to facilitate easy bookings for passengers. He emphasized that the UPSRTC has the potential to provide better transportation services than railways and air connectivity if it wants to.
In his address, the Chief Minister announced that the state government has allocated ₹400 crore in the budget to procure 1,000 new buses for the UPSRTC. He also announced that ₹100 crore will be provided for the development of bus stands, on the lines of airports, to provide world-class facilities to passengers.
The CM expressed his gratitude to the UPSRTC officers and personnel for their dedicated service in ensuring smooth travel for over 25 crore passengers in the state over the last 50 years. He also congratulated them on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee.
The launch of the new buses and the online reservation system is set to improve the transportation infrastructure in the state and provide better connectivity to passengers.
