Vandalism in Howrah over controversial painting during Durga Puja; 30 arrested
Customs officials at the Kolkata airport have successfully intercepted a passenger who was smuggling a large quantity of gold. The officials received secret information that a passenger was arriving from Dubai with a large quantity of gold and immediately took action to apprehend the individual.
Upon searching the passenger, customs officials discovered around 5 kg of gold hidden in the form of paste from the passenger's pants, underwear, and socks. Further investigation revealed that 4.92 kg of gold was hidden inside the paste.
The seized gold is valued at Rs. 2.79 crores, making it a significant haul for customs officials. The passenger has been detained for further questioning and legal action.
