A group of individuals claiming to be police officers entered a hotel in the Rabindra Avenue area of Malda's English Bazar and proceeded to assault hotel employees and seize the register book. There are allegations that they also terrorized other guests staying at the hotel.
The incident was reported to the English Market police station, along with CCTV footage, and the police have initiated an investigation. Parthasarathy Ghosh, who is the president of the South Malda district of the BJP and also a hotelier owning a hotel in the same area, was not present at the time of the incident.
His son was in charge of the hotel when the incident occurred. According to reports, the individuals claimed to be searching for a person who had checked out earlier that day. Ghosh has expressed concern about the deterioration of law and order and is calling for a thorough investigation by the police.
The hotel staff and guests were understandably frightened by this violent incident. The police are currently reviewing the CCTV footage and conducting an investigation into the matter.
