A 15-year-old schoolgirl was sexually assaulted at a shop in Haridevpur, Kolkata while buying a size chart. The incident occurred on Friday evening when she visited her grandfather's shop in the neighborhood.
Her grandfather is a retired bank manager who opened the shop after retirement. The girl was forced to show her notebook inside the shop and was sexually assaulted.
Upon returning home, she was visibly scared and cried, but was initially too afraid to tell her mother what happened. After some persuasion, she finally confided in her mother about the assault. Her parents then accompanied her to the Haridebpur police station to file a complaint against Bhupendranath Howladar.
The accused was arrested based on the complaint and has been presented in Alipore court today. It has been reported that similar complaints have been made against Bhupendranath Howladar in the past.
