In West Bengal, the seizure of large amounts of cash continues as 50 lakh rupees were recovered from a suspicious individual at Howrah station on Sunday. Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel noticed a youth behaving suspiciously on platform number 8 and took him into custody for interrogation.
Upon searching the individual's blue bag, they discovered a substantial amount of cash. The individual was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation for the source or destination of the money and was unable to produce any valid documentation.
The arrested individual has been identified as Prahlad Ram Jakhar, a 33-year-old resident of Bikaner, Rajasthan. The RPF confiscated all the money and arrested the individual, subsequently handing them over to the Customs Department
It remains unclear as to why the individual was carrying such a significant amount of cash or what the intended purpose of the money was.
