A five-year-old boy was buried alive under the rubble of a government-built toilet that collapsed in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri district. The incident took place at Chapartala village in Magalganj on Saturday.
The boy was playing in front of his house when a government toilet allegedly built with shoddy material collapsed on him.
The family of the deceased said that around 12 noon, their 5-year-old son Pankaj was playing near the toilet built in front of the house when it suddenly collapsed on him. Pankaj was buried under the debris, leading to his death on the spot.
The family alleged that the toilet was built in 2016 by the village head and village secretary using substandard material. The family blamed the village head and the village secretary for allegedly making a substandard toilet, leading to the death of their son.
The body has been sent for an autopsy, the police have not yet registered any charges against the accused.
