Death count rises to 288 in Odisha train tragedy, 803 remain injured
Trinamool Congress has been accused of showing black flag to BJP MLA Nikhil Ranjan De from South assembly constituency. The incident took place on Sunday. It is alleged that the black flag was shown to the MLA in the Ghughumari Palpara area of South assembly constituency of Cooch Behar.
It is being told that BJP MLA Nikhil Ranjan De from South Assembly Constituency of Cooch Behar today reached the house of a worker in booth number 169 of Ghughumari Palpara of South Assembly Constituency.
It is alleged that at that time Trinamool Congress workers in the area suddenly gathered with slogans of 'Go Back' and started displaying black flags which increased the tension in the area. Later Cooch Behar Kotwali police reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
However, Cooch Behar-1 Block (A) Trinamool Congress president Jyotirmay Das said the allegation was baseless, it is just the common people have expressed anger against the MLA.
