ED issues fresh summons to Abhishek Banerjee, orders to appear on October 9
Two people have been detained by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), including a former advisor to the West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBSSC), in connection with several instances involving the state's teacher recruitment scam, officials said on Friday.
While the agency detained Santi Prasad Sinha, a former commission advisor, on Thursday, Niladri Das, a former vice president of NYSA Communications Pvt Ltd, was detained on Friday.
The alleged wrongful assignment of an assistant teacher for classes 11–12 is a factor in Sinha's arrest. According to a CBI official, "He was taken before an Alipore court and was remanded to four days police detention."
Das was arrested by the agency for allegedly tampering with OMR sheet marks and engaging in irregularities in concert with other suspects and WBCSSC employees.
He was also shown to the Alipore court, where he was given a three-day police detention order.
