Two summer special trains to run from Patna

Railways will run two pairs of summer special trains on Patna-Ahmedabad and Patna-Dr Ambedkar Nagar routes in Madhya Pradesh to cope with the rush of passengers during summer.

The railways, which operated at least 50 pairs of special long-distance mail and express, are continuing their services of multiple trains on various routes to clear the rush of stranded passengers from different places under the East Central Railway (ECR).

According to ECR Director of Public Relations (CPRO) Birendra Kumar, the special train (09417/09418) will leave Ahmedabad every Monday from April 3 to June 26 at 9:10 am and reach Patna the next day at 9:15 pm with stops at Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya-Buxar-Ara-Danapur.

"Another Super Fast Special (09343/09344) will leave Dr Ambedkar Nagar every Friday from 7th April to 30th June at 5.05 am and reach Patna at 3.30 am on Saturday. On the return journey it will leave Patna every Saturday at 7:20 and reach Doctor Ambedkar Nagar at 6:15 on Sunday,” the CPRO said.

Meanwhile, the Railways achieved record success by selling scrap under the Samastipur division in ECR in a single day on March 23, earning Rs 4.72 crore. "This division had earlier sold about 9,500 tonnes of scrap till March 23, earning Rs 42.81 crore," Kumar said.
