Dilip Ghosh criticizes Mamata Banerjee for ignoring Ram Navami in Bengal

The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) All India Vice President and Member of Parliament Dilip Ghosh has questioned the absence of a public holiday on Ram Navami, one of the Hindu festivals. He raised this question while attending an event in Newtown Ecopark, where he was seen engaging in physical exercises.

Ghosh highlighted that during Eid, the Muslim festival, two days are given as public holidays, but there is no such provision for Ram Navami. He also reminisced about a time when he had picked up a weapon on Ram Navami, which had resulted in a case being filed against him. He further criticized the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for not acknowledging Ram Navami in the same way she does for other festivals.

However, some sources have criticized Ghosh's comments, saying that he is trying too hard to prove himself as a devout Hindu and has been caught in his own political cleverness. The issue of holidays on religious festivals has been a contentious topic in India, with debates around the unequal treatment of different religious communities.
