The ongoing investigation into recruitment corruption has revealed shocking details of a multi-crore scam involving former education minister Partha Chatterjee. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has uncovered information about Kuntal Ghosh's involvement in the illegal activities, which has led to a quadruple increase in the amount of money being implicated in the scandal.
As per the charge sheet filed by the ED, Kuntal Ghosh used to extort money from at least 50 agents and was involved in the collection of crores of rupees in connection with the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted in 2014. The charge sheet also disclosed that Kuntal used to charge Rs 1 lakh for a TET pass in the initial recruitment, and the rate for securing a job as a primary teacher was Rs 5 lakh.
The ED has claimed that Kuntal Ghosh had delivered a staggering amount of Rs 11.85 crore, collected from TET 2014, to close friends in Perth on several occasions. The charge sheet further alleges that a significant portion of the ill-gotten money was routed through Partha Chatterjee's former OSD Praveer Bandopadhyay, Aptshayak Sukant Acharya, Deepak Sarkar, and Parthar Sarkar alias Bhaja.
