Two teenagers lost their lives in a tragic road accident in Kolkata, which occurred in the early hours of Friday morning.
According to reports, the accident took place at around 2:30 am when a high-speed motorcycle collided with a truck near the newly constructed parking building turn near Passing in Alipore. The impact of the collision was so severe that both teenagers were thrown off the bike and scattered on the road in a blood-soaked condition.
The victims have been identified as 16-year-old Mohammad Faizan and 15-year-old Mohammad Tauseef, both residents of the Bangalpada area of Khidirpur Babu Bazar. Sadly, they were declared dead on arrival at SSKM Hospital, where they were rushed after the accident. Police officials investigating the case have confirmed that the teenagers were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident, which could have potentially saved their lives.
After the accident, the truck driver responsible for the collision reportedly fled the scene with the vehicle. However, the police were able to track down and arrest the driver in the Hastings police station area. The truck has also been seized by the authorities, who are currently examining CCTV footage to determine the cause of the accident.
