The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully launched the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV)-C55 mission, which carried the TeLEOS-2 Earth Observation Satellite and the LUMELITE-4 technology demonstration satellite into space. T
he TeLEOS-2 satellite will provide satellite imaging requirements to various government agencies in Singapore, while LUMELITE-4 aims to augment Singapore’s maritime safety and benefit the global shipping community.
The PSLV-C55 mission also included the second PSLV Orbital Experimental Module (POEM-2) with payloads from Indian institutions and aerospace startups. The innovative approach used by ISRO will allow them to reduce the occupancy time at the launch pad, facilitating a significant improvement in the frequency of launches
. The entire rocket was integrated at the new dedicated PSLV integration facility at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, which will help ISRO boost its launch cadence.
