Nawazuddin Siddiqui has been in the news for the past few months, not for his film roles but for family matters. His ex-wife Aaliya Siddiqui made headlines when she claimed in a video that Nawaz threw her and their children out of the house at midnight. She also accused the actor's mother of harassing her. Now that things have calmed down, Aaliya has opened up about why she went public about her family problems.
She said in an interview that she had to take things public because she was in a lot of pain. If she didn't talk about the problems, she felt suffocated. She is finally at peace after the court convinced their children to return to Dubai for further studies and invited both parents to accompany them.
Aaliya continued and said that she still believes that she should not discuss her family issues in public but she had no choice as she was going through a lot mentally. She went on to say that when someone is stuck, they have to resort to a public forum. When no one listens to you, you will have to fight.
In March, Nawaz filed a defamation case against Aaliya following their nasty divorce, but later decided to withdraw it. According to Aaliya's lawyer, the settlement process is related to other marital disputes and an ugly custody battle is not expected at this time.
On the work front, Aaliya took to her Instagram on Sunday to share that her debut film Holycow as a producer is running on Prime Video. In the post, she thanked her co-producers and crew for their hard work and efforts.
Meanwhile, Nawaz will be seen in Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu starrer Afwaah and with Neha Sharma in Jogira Sara Ra Ra.
