West Bengal Governor Dr. CV Anand Bose has spoken to Chief Secretary Hari Krishna Dwivedi and Director General of Police Manoj Malviya over phone on the alleged gang rape and murder of a minor girl in Kaliaganj, North Dinajpur.

On Wednesday, Raj Bhavan sources told that the governor present in Delhi spoke to both of them on the phone from there. Both have assured the Governor that a thorough investigation is going on in the incident and no culprit will be spared.

On the other hand, Priyanka Kanungo, President of the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, met the Governor in Delhi. The Governor said that he was leaving Delhi midway and returning, as a day before, fresh violence broke out in Kaliaganj. The protesting Rajvanshi and tribal community set ablaze the police station after being injured by police lathicharge and tear gas shells.

The crowd is following him with sticks in their hands. He enters a house and hides under the cot. The crowd reaches there by breaking the wall and is beating him by dragging him from under the cot. Blood is falling from his mouth. He is begging for his life with folded hands.

It is noteworthy that the dead body of a minor girl was found in Kaliaganj. The family members claimed that she was murdered after the rape. The local leadership of the Trinamool Congress was named in the case. But the police did not arrest them.
