2 arrested as Gujarat family held hostage in Bengal over ₹15 lakh ransom for fake passports
Bidhannagar Electronics Complex police have arrested three individuals, including two women, for their involvement in a job scam that targeted individuals seeking employment in Saudi Arabia.
Hundreds of victims from different states flocked to the police station, demanding the return of their money and passports.
According to reports, the suspects allegedly lured physically challenged pilgrims with job opportunities and collected token payments from around 25,000 candidates. However, the victims were left without any communication or job prospects.
After filing written complaints, the police arrested the suspects at Sector 5 AN Block, following an investigation into the matter.
