IIT Kharagpur student murdered: Forensic report reveals head injuries

In a recent development, the investigation into the death of Faizan Ahmed, a student of IIT Kharagpur, has taken a new turn with the submission of a report by forensic expert Ajay Gupta to the Calcutta High Court.

The report, presented during Tuesday's hearing, suggests that Faizan Ahmed was murdered rather than being a victim of suicide, as initially claimed by IIT officials and the police.

According to the report, the second post-mortem examination conducted on Faizan Ahmed's body revealed a fractured thyroid bone, which resulted in severe bleeding leading to his untimely demise.

The court, presided over by Justice Rajasekhar Mantha, has taken the report into consideration and has directed the director of CFSL (Central Forensic Science Laboratory) to examine the viscera and submit a comprehensive report within a week.

This latest revelation has raised suspicions surrounding the circumstances of Faizan Ahmed's death and has prompted the court to consider involving the competent authorities of the state police in the investigation, rather than relying solely on the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) or any central agency

Prior to the submission of the report, Dr. Gupta visited the hostel room where Faizan Ahmed's body was discovered, and carefully examined both the first post-mortem report and the police investigation report. In line with the court's orders, the second post-mortem was conducted at Calcutta Medical College, lasting approximately four hours. The entire procedure was recorded on video.

During the second post-mortem, doctors discovered blood clots in two areas at the back of Faizan Ahmed's head. However, it was noted that a portion of the skull was not positioned correctly, further adding to the intrigue surrounding the case.

These findings have intensified speculation regarding the High Court's future actions in relation to the mysterious death of this bright IIT Kharagpur student. While the incident was initially labeled as a suicide, the recent report by Dr. Gupta and the subsequent second post-mortem examination suggest the possibility of foul play.
