Residents of Garui area in Ward No. 4 of South Dumdum municipality staged a road blockade to protest against prolonged electricity outage.
The blockade caused traffic congestion, with several vehicles, including a police car, getting stuck. The locals expressed frustration over the inconsistent power supply, stating that even when electricity briefly returns, it quickly goes off again.
The presence of a generator van in the area remained ineffective until the police intervened and activated it.
The blockade was eventually lifted, but residents warned of repeating the action if electricity issues persist.
