In a significant breakthrough, the police of Howrah's Golabari police station have successfully busted a heroin smuggling operation.
Acting on suspicion, the patrolling police caught a woman red-handed while she was attempting to smuggle a substantial quantity of heroin. The seized drugs, weighing over one kilogram and with a significant street value, have been handed over to the Narcotics Department for further investigation.
The incident unfolded when the vigilant patrolling police noticed the woman loitering near Ganga Ghat in Kings Road, Golabari. Sensing something amiss, they approached her for questioning, leading to the discovery of the illicit substances concealed in her bag. The police are now focused on unraveling the intricate network of this smuggling operation and determining the intended destination and recipients of the drugs.
The recovered drugs hold considerable value, amounting to several lakh rupees. The samples of the confiscated drugs have been sent for thorough analysis to the Narcotics Department, which will aid in further investigations and help bring the culprits to justice.
