Regarding the meeting of opposition parties held in Patna ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Shubhendu Adhikari, a BJP legislator and opposition leader in West Bengal, took a sarcastic jibe at Mamata Banerjee, Congress, and the Mahajot alliance.
The West Bengal BJP leader sarcastically remarked "बंगाल में कुश्ती, पटना में दोस्ती", i.e, that there is wrestling happening in Bengal while friendship is being nurtured in Patna taking a dig at Congress and TMC. He pointed out the stark contrast between the dedication of workers in Bengal, who shed blood, and the camaraderie among leaders in Patna.
The Trinamool Congress, Congress, and Rahul Gandhi's party have come under scrutiny in Patna for their united front against the BJP's rising influence in West Bengal. Even Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the President of the West Bengal Congress, has raised questions about Mamata Banerjee's actions.
Shubhendu Adhikari questioned the alliances being formed in West Bengal, with the (Congress+CPM) forming a B-team for the Trinamool Congress, while in Delhi (Trinamool+CPM), it is the B-team for Congress. In Kerala, it is Congress versus CPM. He questioned whether these parties are playing a friendly match against themselves in West Bengal. While Congress and CPM workers shed their blood on the ground, their top leaders are making deals in Patna. "Who is making a fool of whom, their state leaders or their high commands?"
According to him, this proves that the BJP is the only party fighting fiercely against the corrupt Trinamool Congress. He said that while wrestling is happening in Bengal, friendship is flourishing in Delhi (Patna). He mentioned that the Trinamool and Congress are compromising with regional parties in West Bengal, while their workers are being killed, and candidates are being threatened to withdraw their nominations. Attacks are being carried out during the form submission process.
He stated that in reality, in West Bengal, the Trinamool and Congress are a B-team for each other. Hence, they are not acceptable to the people of West Bengal. "Don't think that the intelligent people of Bengal are fools; they see everything, they understand everything."
