South Bengal gets new rail connectivity: Purulia-Bankura-Howrah MEMU service inaugurated today
Around 60 children between the ages of 6 and 12 fell sick after consuming food at a wedding celebration in a village located in Bihar's Khagaria district.
Among them, six children are in critical condition, and a medical team has set up camp in the village to provide treatment at the Community Health Center (CHC) in Alouli.
Doctor Manish Kumar confirmed that it was a case of food poisoning and mentioned that the children are currently undergoing treatment, with some potentially being transferred to the district hospital after receiving initial aid.
According to witnesses, the children consumed chicken and rice early in the morning at Lahri village, resulting in restlessness, followed by complaints of nausea and vomiting. Doctor Kumar added that a team of doctors and medical staff is stationed in the affected village, where the wedding reception took place.
One attendee, Mani Devi, reported that approximately 100 children had consumed the food, with many experiencing symptoms of nausea and stomach pain, necessitating their prompt transportation to CHC Alouli. Doctors have attributed the incident to poor hygiene and adulteration.
