This extraordinary rise comes on the heels of Siraj's stellar performance in the Asia Cup 2023 final against Sri Lanka. In the latest rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday, September 20, Siraj surged from his previous position at No. 9 to clinch the coveted No. 1 position.
Before the Asia Cup final, Mohammed Siraj held a solid score of 637 points in the ICC ODI Bowling Rankings. However, his exceptional showing in the final propelled him to a total of 694 points, securing his status as the top-ranked bowler in the world.
Siraj's phenomenal rise has left the cricketing world in awe, as he now holds a 16-point advantage over the former No. 1 bowler, Josh Hazlewood, who has been displaced to the second position in the bowling charts.
