Dalit woman assaulted, stripped, and urinated upon by moneylender in Bihar's Patna district

A Dalit woman was allegedly stripped, assaulted and urinated on her mouth by a moneylender and his associates in Bihar’s Patna district. The victim claims that this brutal attack occurred because she had filed a police complaint against the moneylender's “unjustified” demand for additional funds, despite full repayment of the debt.

The main accused, Pramod Singh, along with his son Anshu Singh, is currently on the run, prompting a manhunt to arrest them. The injured victim, who is under treatment in a hospital, claimed that she had to bear this torture despite paying off the borrowed money with interest. “My husband had borrowed Rs 1,500 from Pramod Singh a few months ago and had returned the money with interest. However, he continued to seek more money. We rejected the demand,” the woman said.

The horrific incident took place in a village under the jurisdiction of the Khusrupur police station in Patna on Saturday night. Allegedly, Pramod Singh threatened the victim over the phone, warning that she would be paraded naked in the village if she did not comply with his demands for additional money. Fearing for her safety, she reported the threats to the police using her mobile phone. 

Subsequently, a police team visited the village on Saturday to inquire about the complaint, which appears to have enraged Pramod and his associates. They forcibly took the victim from her home to Pramod's residence at around 10 pm on Saturday, where the assault occurred.
